Video Coding is a series of video processing mods made on existing videos from pop culture and media, accentuating certain aspects of their underlying nature as well as exploring potential for portraiture.

All the modifications were made using MATLAB.

LOTUS FLOWER MOD

Video of Lotus Flower by Radiohead with differential frames, which take away literally all the details in the video except moving bodies - of which there's nothing but Thom Yorke himself.

The initial ideas of motion detection using differential frame was with the intent of surveillance, but can be easily repurposed to add depth to filmed performances.

THE MANY STANDS

The Many Stands is a video mod on Donald Trump news clip that instead of subtracting one frame from another, adds it, hence creating a ghostly inertial effect that tends to reflect his frequent polar shifts in political opinions.
